The Oaks at Plum Creek LGBTQ Wedding

The Oaks at Plum Creek was the most beautiful backdrop for S & E’s intentional wedding day. We had never photographed at the venue before, but had seen photos of the stunning scrub oak backdrop for the ceremony, and were giddy with excitement to see it in person. When we arrived, I was impressed my more than just the ceremony site. There are two large ballroom spaces at The Oaks. S & E used one for dinner that looked out over the golf course at sunset, then the other for their dance party. I loved that the room they used for dancing had some small booth tables, comfy couches, and a huge bar. It was set up perfectly for the best dance floor at a wedding, without a doubt. The dining room area was open, airy, and full of natural light. It worked perfectly with S & E’s light neutral wedding color palette.

Now, on to the ceremony site that we were so excited for! I didn’t expect how long and beautiful the processional down from the venue was. Some of my favorite photos from this day are S & her dad walking into the ceremony arm in arm. The view was incredible from every angle of the ceremony site. The couple is set up to face west so they are watching the afternoon sunset while the guests are facing east away from the sun (great for comfort so everyone isn’t squinting at the wedding).

My favorite part of S & E’s wedding day was their intention blending their beautiful family. Their three daughters played a huge role in every part of their day from special getting ready gifts, to their sand ceremony during the wedding vows. The eldest of the daughters was SO nervous for her speech, and I think S & E secretly expected her to get cold feet and not give it (which they said they were totally fine with). But, instead, she absolutely nailed it and had the whole wedding party tearing up. By the end of the night, they were leading the dance floor with their song requests and amazing moves. It was truly such a beautiful relationship to witness between all of them!
